Biography

Dr. Harmandeep Singh Thabal is a dedicated and highly skilled Gastroenterologist with comprehensive training in gastrointestinal, hepatic, biliary, and pancreatic diseases. He completed his DM in Gastroenterology from Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, where he received extensive hands-on training in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. His DM residency provided integrated exposure to Upper GI Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP, and a variety of specialized interventions including:

EVL (Endoscopic Variceal Ligation) banding
Endocryl glue injection
Esophageal stricture dilatation
Endoscopic-guided NG/NJ tube placement
Foreign body removal
Cold snare polypectomy
Side-viewing endoscopy

Before specializing in Gastroenterology, Dr. Thabal completed his MD in Internal Medicine from Government Medical College, Amritsar, and an MBBS from Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (AIMSR), Bathinda. He has also served as a Senior Resident in the Department of Medicine at Government Medical College, Patiala, where he gained extensive clinical experience managing a broad spectrum of medical and emergency cases. Dr. Thabal has a strong academic inclination and has contributed to research in areas related to inflammatory bowel disease. His DM thesis focused on the utility of Neutrophil/Lymphocyte Ratio and Lymphocyte/Monocyte Ratio as non-invasive biomarkers for evaluating disease activity in Ulcerative Colitis. He has actively participated in national-level academic conferences such as INASL, ENDOCON, ISGCON, and EBG .He is also a Lifetime Member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG).
