What is NICU?
NICU stands for “neonatal intensive care unit, is an intensive care unit specializing in the care of ill or premature newborn infants. Neonatal refers to the first 28 days of life.
When babies are born early, have health problems, a difficult birth, need specialised nursing care and feeding support they go to the hospital’s NICU.
They require continuous monitoring and support where specially trained healthcare professionals, doctors, nurses with special skills are available round-the-clock in the NICU
Symptoms:

Maternal factors
Age below 16 and above 35 years
Associated diabetes, hypertension or heart disease
Multiple pregnancies
Bleeding during pregnancy
Drug or alcohol exposure

The NICU is well equipped to handle Pre-mature babies ,prematurity, Nutrition, Warmth, Sepsis / infection, Respiratory distress syndrome, Apnoea, bradycardia, cyanosis (ABC), Neonatal jaundice newborn who require level 3 NICU services in addition to a well equipped ambulance service
